There are some weddings that just stick with you, and Alyssa and Ben’s celebration at the Contemporary Arts Center in Downtown Cincinnati is one I’ll be reliving forever.
Their wedding day was a perfect blend of modern art, raw emotion, and stunning editorial style — everything I love capturing as a documentary and artistic wedding photographer.
From the very beginning, Alyssa and Ben made it clear: they wanted their wedding to feel genuine and artful.
As someone who specializes in destination weddings and editorial wedding photography, it was a dream to document their love story in such a creative and visually striking space.
We had a calls and e-mails that talked about what they wanted, from romantic couple’s photos to fun bridal party photos in Downtown Cincinnati where we had the best time!
If you’ve never been to the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) in Cincinnati, let me just say — it’s a masterpiece in itself.
The architecture is bold, minimalist, and flooded with natural light, which makes it a perfect venue for couples who want something unique and elevated.
Every corner of the CAC offered a new perspective, a new shadow, and a new line to play with — ideal for creating timeless, editorial-style portraits.
The ceremony space was minimal and modern, allowing Alyssa and Ben’s love (and their impeccable style) to truly shine.
From the high ceilings and concrete textures to the art installations and clean lines, the entire day felt like a living, breathing work of art.
What made this wedding especially special for me was the opportunity to photograph their wedding using both digital and 35mm film.
There’s something magical about the unpredictability of film — it adds a nostalgic texture and mood that perfectly complements the raw emotion of a wedding day.
We moved through their day quietly and attentively, capturing everything from intimate glances and joyful tears to the chaotic, beautiful energy of the dance floor.
Whether it was a candid moment with Alyssa and her bridesmaids or a cinematic shot of Ben waiting for the ceremony to begin, every frame told a part of their story.
Even though this wedding was in Cincinnati, I’m always traveling for love stories. Whether you’re getting married at an art museum, eloping on a cliffside, or planning an intimate backyard celebration, I’m here for it.
My approach is a mix of documentary storytelling and fine art — creating imagery that feels both real and elevated.
Alyssa and Ben’s wedding is a perfect example of what happens when you trust your photographer to see the day as it unfolds — not forcing poses, but crafting natural, artful images that reflect who you are.
Each part of the day was a piece of the larger story — a mosaic of love, art, and authentic connection.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s deeply personal, stylish, and a little out-of-the-box, I’d love to hear from you.
