That is what I am interested in.

The worn details that carry history. The person who has been behind the counter for twenty years. The light that hits one particular corner every afternoon. The regulars. The rituals. The energy of a Saturday night. The quiet before the doors open.

For a hotel, it may be breakfast arriving to a room as morning light moves across the sheets.

For a restaurant, the kitchen coming alive before dinner.

For a neighborhood institution, it may be decades of character living in the walls.

For an independent business, it might simply be the people, details, and experiences that could never be replicated somewhere else.

I want to understand those things before I decide how to photograph them.
Because the strongest brand imagery doesn't simply tell someone what you offer.
It gives them a reason to care.

There are photographs that show what a business looks like.
And then there are photographs that show WHY PEOPLE LOVE IT.

THE SOUL OF A PLACE

THE EXPERIENCE

You receive a cohesive visual library rather than a collection of disconnected photographs.

Imagery created with your website, social media, press, editorial features, newsletters, campaigns, and other agreed-upon marketing uses in mind.

Some photographs will immediately communicate what you offer.

Others will communicate something less tangible:
who you are.

Together, they create a visual identity people can recognize, remember, and feel.

Then I spend time in your world.

Depending on the story, that may mean arriving before the doors open, staying through the busiest part of the evening, experiencing the property as a guest, watching something being made, talking with the people behind the business, or simply giving myself enough time to notice what happens naturally.

There is room for both direction and discovery.

We'll intentionally create the editorial imagery your brand needs while leaving space for the moments we couldn't have planned.

Those are often the ones that tell us the most.

Every commission begins with conversation.

Before photographing, I want to understand more than your visual identity.

I want to know how the business began. What people come back for. What you're proud of. What has changed. What hasn't. Who makes the place what it is. What you want someone to understand about you before they ever become a customer or guest.

We'll also discuss your audience, current visual needs, and where the imagery ultimately needs to live.

From there, I develop a photographic approach around the story rather than simply creating a shot list.

Commissions can be photographed using digital, film, or a combination of both.

Digital allows us to build a comprehensive and versatile visual library.

Film introduces something different—texture, movement, imperfection, nostalgia, and an inherent sense of memory.

When the story calls for it, combining the two allows us to create imagery that feels polished without becoming sterile and timeless without losing personality.

Before photographing, we'll consider where your imagery needs to live and what you need it to accomplish.

Website. Social media. Press. Editorial features. Email campaigns. Brand collateral. Seasonal storytelling. Future marketing.

This allows us to photograph intentionally from the beginning—considering orientation, negative space, storytelling sequences, details, hero imagery, and the variety needed across different platforms.

The result is imagery created to work for your business without sacrificing the artistry behind it.

The photographs we create should have a life beyond the day they were made.

A VISUAL LIBRARY WITH PURPOSE

STARTING INVESTMENT — $2,500

Storytelling commissions begin at $2,500

Every business has a different story, which is why commissions are designed around the experience rather than a predetermined number of photographs or hours.

Your investment considers the creative development of the story, pre-production and planning, time spent experiencing and photographing your world, editorial direction, post-production, final deliverables, and the intended use of the imagery.

Commissions may range from focused editorial stories to immersive full-day and multi-day experiences.

For hospitality and destination commissions, accommodations and experiences necessary to authentically document the story are provided as part of the production and are not considered compensation for the photographic commission.

Travel and expanded commercial licensing are quoted according to the individual project.

Following your inquiry, we'll begin with a conversation about what makes your business distinctly yours and what you hope these photographs will communicate. From there, you'll receive a custom proposal built around the story we want to tell.

LET'S TELL YOUR STORY

Maybe it's the building.

Maybe it's the people.

Maybe it's a recipe, a ritual, a history, a neighborhood, an atmosphere, or something difficult to explain until you've experienced it yourself.

That's the part I want to photograph.

For hospitality commissions, business stories, destination projects, and creative collaborations, tell me a little about what you've built and why it matters to you.
